Here's a useful step by step process of what goes into a full detail of your car, truck, or suv!
Exterior Detailing:

Pressure Wash (Power Wash): Pressuring washing involves the use of a high powered stream of water that is generated from a motor to remove large chunks of debris from your vehicle. It’s typically the first step needed in any auto detailing process. It is vital to pressure wash into hard to reach or neglected areas such as crevices and cracks since most contaminants collect there. Areas where there is noticeable paint flaking are treated more carefully so as to not induce further damage to those areas. Once the pressure washing step is completed, your vehicle will be already looking 100x’s better! At J's Details we provide the best pressure washing for auto detailing Columbus GA has ever seen!

Degreaser Rinse: A degreaser may be needed if your vehicle has large debris on the exterior such as tar, bird droppings, grime, or dirt so as to break so up before or after the pressure wash. It is of note though that degreasers are used sparingly since they are known to remove any coatings or sealants present on the vehicle. Thus, if needed, it is important to reapply coatings or sealants that were removed.

Shampooing:
The shampooing step is the next step in the exterior detailing process. This step simply collects and exfoliates any debris still present on the exterior of the vehicle. This can be done in two ways: the two bucket method, or the use of a foam gun. For the two bucket method, two buckets are used: a wash and a rinse bucket. These, combined with any cloth or sponge, are used to manually hand wash a vehicle. A foam gun on the other hand sprays a jet of foam over the entire exterior of the vehicle.

Drying: Where do common detailing issues such as swirls and water marks come from? The drying step. As being one of the most crucial yet overlooked aspects of the entire exterior detailing process, it is important that a detailer is not careless during this step. To avoid these mistakes, it is important that a sheeting method be used to remove any remaining soap on the vehicle. A sheeting method is when demineralized water is gently applied onto the vehicle with no splashing so that all water droplets are collected by it and removed from the outside of the vehicle. An air blower is used afterwards to blow off any water from dripping in common dripping locations such as the exterior trim and mirrors. Finally a towel is used to remove the last bit of minute water on the vehicle. For this step, it is vital that the right detailer is chosen: Cap Mobilr Detailing is the one for your vehicle will provide the best car detail Columbus GA deserves!

Claying: Once the majority of large contaminants are removed, there is still the possibility that micro particulates are still present within the exterior paint of your car. To remove their imperfections, a clay bar is used along with some lubricant which collects this particulates. Claying is done throughout most of the vehicle but especially in areas where common collections of this small particulates are known to accumulate. It is also of note, to use as much lubricant and clay as needed so as to not create scratches during the detailing process.

Polishing:  This is the step that spins everyone’s heads whenever you’re driving by them! Polishing removes any oxidation, swirls, or water marks in the clear coat of your car, truck, or suv. A rotary polisher is used along with a lubricant that is best used for your particular vehicle so that your vehicle is already looking like it just came off the lot!

Sealant:  A sealant is used to shield your car, truck, or suv from the weather for 3-6 months. It seals and implants into the vehicle's exterior paint and forms a shield against any micro particulates from inserting your vehicle’s paint. It also adds more gloss and depth to your car’s paint!

Waxing:  When water begins pooling on top of your vehicle, it’s time that it got a new layer of wax! Waxing prevents water from beading up and leaving water marks or depositing minerals into the paint of your vehicle. A good wax typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks. It also gives your car, truck, or suv that silky smooth touch we all love to feel!

Wheel and Tire:  Wheel and tire care is a MUST in any detail! It adds to the overall appearance of the showroom quality, and nobody wants to see dirty tires. A degreaser is usually applied to remove most of the dirt and grime on the tires. Then a complete shampooing and pressure wash is applied to remove and remaining residue. The inner wheel is specifically treated with a clay bar and lubricant along with any waxes or sealants needed to regain their shine. Finally, tire dressing is put on to give your tires their showroom dark quality!

Exterior Trim Care: Over time, your exterior trim fades and dulls. That is why it is important for these areas to also get detailed from time to time, so that these areas do not stand out and tarnish the overall look of your vehicle. Once the initial exterior steps of the detailing process are finished a generous coat of dressing is applied to your exterior trim so that it can regain its showroom quality appearance!

Window Cleaning:  It should be obvious that window detailing is a must for any detail, for aesthetic and safety reasons. The windows on your vehicle can accumulate all kinds of residue such as dust, bird droppings, condensation, and smoke residue. A glass cleaner that is ammonium free is used to remove any remaining large contaminants after the initial pressure wash and shampoo. The windows are then clayed to release any remaining fine debris left over. The last step is to reapply the glass cleaner and add a small layer of wax for longer protection.

Interior Detailing
Why get the interior detailed? Where do most of your passengers stay when it comes to your car? Inside. A thousand words can be sad about you just off of the inside condition of your car. You deserve to enjoy a vehicle that is clean, smells great, and is well maintained on the inside. As the best mobile detailers in the Columbus, GA area we pride ourselves in giving the same detail inside as outside!

Carpet Cleaning: What’s usually the dirtiest part of the interior of your vehicle? The carpet. Cleaning the carpet is actually quite simple. Your vehicle’s carpet is removed and vacuumed, and then a general fabric cleaner is put on so that any stains present are lifted and taken off.

Seat Cleaning: The first thing your passengers will notice when stepping into your vehicle is what is on their seat. No one likes sitting on stained seats from fast food. Let’s be real. A general fabric cleaner or leather cleaner is used depending on what your seats are made of so as to uplift any stains to the surface. These are then vacuumed up. If your seats are made of leather, a leather conditioner is used to reduce the leather from drying out over time.

Interior Trim: Your console, doors, side panels, and dashboard: all of these and more plastic components are considered part of your interior trim. Thus they need just as much care when it comes to detailing as any other part of your vehicle since they can fade and be worn down over time. A general cleaner and protectant is needed so as to rejuvenate the original color and shine of your interior trim, and to remove any common contaminants such as dust, skin flakes, and food stains. Random Cool Facts!

People get their vehicles towed for all kinds of reasons (hopefully good). BUT did you know our counterparts over in the UK don't call it TOWING??? Weirdos! Over there it's called "Vehicle Recovery". If you ever go to the UK, which we recommend of course, and your car gets stuck, just type in something like vehicle recovery Bristol instead of towing Bristol so that you'll be properly serviced!

Also! If you are planning on making a stop in the Compton/LA area, feel free to stop by the best mobile car detailing compton ca has ever seen, which is Nothing But the Best!
